joel fErrell 1976 - 1977 Thirty-ninth president of the AAU. Ferrell held a graduate degree in mechanical engineering as well as studied law. He had three children who were all active in the AAU. Under Ferrell’s leadership, Sears, Roebuck and Co, sponsored the AAU Junior Olympic Games. He was also a vice-president of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
