jay mahoney 1963 Thirty-second president of the AAU. Mahoney was active in water polo, known around the world, guiding the Council for National Aquatics through the incorporation process in 1964. Mahoney also took part in a discussion on key issues in a track and field dispute which lead to the AAU denying the right of educational institutions to sanction domestic track and field meets involving college students.
