james rhodes 1947 - 1948 Twenty-fourth resident of the AAU. His aim was to extend athletic privileges to underprivileged youth as he, himself worked his way out of boyhood poverty in Southeast Ohio and become a millionaire. Rhodes served as the Ohio Governor during 16 years of the state’s best and worse times over three decades.
